Battery Life - Defective Battery

Is the Battery on a Mac Air Retina 2000 considered defective if it is shot after just 247 cycles.


Is the number of cycles shown in the app the amount used (what I assumed) or the amount left from 1000 (This is what An Apple Tech Supervisor told me.


if these battery’s only last less than 1 1/2 years they should be recalled

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

It's a cumulative cycle counter, not a "count down" from some number: Determine battery cycle count for Mac notebooks - Apple Support.
