Menu Bar Turned Gray after update to MacOS 12.1

The menu bar turned gray after updating to macOS Monterey 12.1. This has occurred on two different computers.

This is true for both "Dark Mode" and "Light Mode."

Reducing transparency in the only solution for now, but it takes away the color.

The only thing I use in the menu bar is iStat menus, and they claim they have nothing to do with these kinds of display settings.

Anyone else experiencing this? I need to know if I need to submit a bug report to Apple.

Well, the 3rd restart was the charm. Now everything is as it should be. Carry on.

Okay, this is getting weirder. I turned transparency on and off and toggled between light and dark mode.

I have a USB-C monitor going into the MacBook Pro, and now the computer display is stuck in dark mode transparency (no matter which mode is selected):

and the monitor display is stuck in light mode transparency (no matter which mode is selected):

If I unplug the monitor, the computer display is stuck in light mode transparency like the 2nd one.
