M1 Battery Not Charging via Thunderbolt

Hello, I have Philips 279P1 external monitor connected solely by a Thunderbolt 3 cable to my MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020). It is supposed to provide enough power for the MacBook to operate and charge its battery, which it has for the past few months.

Today, I am not able to get the MacBook's battery to charge with this setup anymore. The screen acts perfectly fine as a secondary monitor with both image and sound, but alas no charging.

I have tried the following to no avail:

  • Closing any apps that consume too much power.
  • Restarting the MacBook.
  • Shutting down, waiting a few minutes, and rebooting the MacBook.
  • Disabling the "Optimised battery charging" options in preferences.
  • Restarting the monitor.
  • Resetting the monitor to its initial settings.

I'm on macOS Monterey v12.0.1 (21A559)

Any ideas as to how I can resolve this?

Thanks in advance.

I would power the Mac directly with the appropriate charger, this will bypass any issues.
