iOS 15 broke my torch and camera

Since updating my iPhone 7 Plus to iOS 15.1 and 15.2, my camera at 1x zoom no longer works, and my torch doesn't work unless I use my camera at 2x or higher zoom.

Torch will not light up when turning it on from the Control Centre.

Front facing camera works.

Camera at 1x zoom or less than 2x zoom is simply a black screen. Tapping the capture button doesn't take a photo.

I've seen a similar report on here that's no longer active (yet still unresolved) of this happening on an iPhone X.

I've reset my phone in a multitude of ways.

Factory resetting isn't something I want to (or should have to) do to fix this.

Is this issue known and if so, will it be patched?

Thanks,

Hiro

It is not a known issue but the extra activity required in an update can be the "last straw" with components on the edge of failing.

How to arrange  a repair

First try a Forced restart

If no better

You should arrange a repair

Anything other than Screen or Battery may be a replacement phone and the price is in the article.

Thanks for the response LD150,

This is incredibly disappointing and perpetuates all the negative things being said about updating older devices to the latest iOS.

By updating my device to Apple's latest OS, they've put me in a position where I have to pay to get the flaws they've introduced fixed.

I would expect this from other companies. Not Apple.

Is there a way I can report this as an issue? I don't have a doubt in my mind that someone there is able to fix this.

Thanks again,

Hiro
