Voice Memo Excessive Storage Use

I use Voice Memos frequently, save the voice files off the iPhone either via airdrop directly to my MacBook or by way of Saving to iCloud Files. I delete from the main and delete the "Recently Deleted" folder. You can see in the screenshot - my voice memos is taking up 26.27GB of Documents & Data. Even after deleting almost all memos, doing a forced re-boot of the device, and updating the iOS, this storage use is still not budging (in fact it has increased). This is basically rendering my 64G iPhone XS useless as it is been taking up half the device for over a month. Any thoughts?

Hello bex8734,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that Voice Memos is using more storage than expected.

It sounds like you've taken great measures to prevent this with deleting them from Voice Memos and your Recently Deleted folder. Is Voice Memos enabled from Settings > [Your name] > iCloud? If so, tap Manage Storage on that same page and check out Voice Memos there. How much storage does it say Voice Memos is using in iCloud? This might help to see if there is a large mismatch.

Using the same steps from How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch that you used to find the screenshot above, do you see any large attachments or other data that might be impacting your storage?

Have a great day!
