Why do I have so many copies of my contacts on my Apple computer and devices?

I've gone through all of the instructions to remove duplicate contacts but they keep reappearing in my contacts app on my phone and computer.

None of the published Apple solutions work. Not only that but they date from 2017 as well and we are up to Big Sur and IOS 15.1

Contact Apple Support:

  1. Go Here: If you See Duplicate Contacts after Setting Up iCloud Contacts - Apple Support
  2. As it Reads: If you see duplicates in Contacts on iCloud.com, visit Apple Support for help.

Apple Contact Info:

Why the Wait:

Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
