Small blue partial dot?

When using the Mail app on my iphone, there appears to be some sort of blue icon to the left of the date at the top of the screen - see screen shot. It looks like a crescent or a blue icon that is partially hidden by the edge of the screen. As far as I can tell the Mail app is the only place it appears I try to click on it and nothing happens. Any idea what this is?

It looks like you have the screen set for larger text. Go to Settings/Display & Brightness/Text Size and see if the setting is to the right of the middle. And also verify that the View is Standard, and not Zoomed. And also check that it is not in your wallpaper image.
