Installed MacOS [Monterey] upgrade yesterday, now facetime camera not working. Please advise.

Having the same issue on my late 2016 intel MBP — went through all the steps detailed on your link, which did not solve the issue.
When i called customer support I was told this is a hardware issue — the hardware worked fine up until the minute Monterey finished loading. While it could be a coincidence, it seems strange that other people have had the exact same experience. Please provide a software update that fixes this issue.
I downgraded to 10.14.6 from a timemachine backup. Still camera doesn't work! I wonder if there was a firmware update that has bricked, some, cameras?
Not working, already tried.
