How can I back up my phone if my screen is so cracked it won't allow me to type my passcode in.

You will need to be able to enter the passcode on your old iPhone. You have stated that the screen is cracked and therefore inoperable. You will need to get the screen fixed to do what you are looking to do.
Do you have a backup of your photos on iCloud or on a computer? If you do then you can restore your new iPhone from one of those backups. If you do not have a backup file created, then the only way is to get that screen fixed on your old iPhone.

You can't, backups should be done on a regular basis for just this reason.
