How can I prevent my son's Airpods from tracking my iPhone?

My son has an iPhone 10/XR, which he uses with his Airpod Pros. Every day for the past several weeks, without prompting from either of us, his Airpod Pros notify me that they are tracking my iPhone. How can I prevent my son's Airpods from tracking my device?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about those prompts concerning your son’s AirPods Pro.

It looks like you've had the chance to review the related article above.

For reference, this article has more details on features related to locating AirPods: How to find your lost AirPods, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max

Are you and your son sharing an Apple ID account, or does he use his own separate account?

Do those prompts still continue after resetting his AirPods per the steps in this article? How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro

Additionally, is each iPhone all up to date? Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Hopefully those details will help to isolate this behavior further.

Take care.
