Screen shots not deleting
Since the recent update December 2021, when I take a screenshot it won't delete won't minimize, won't do anything. I have to restart my MacBook Pro in order to remove it. Any other way to deal with this issue?

Thanks. I have this problem. No response from the x to close the screenshot and it's also sitting on top of any other app I have open. But changing the setting to Clipboard rather than Desktop a useful tip until this problem is fixed.
Hi, yes I changed the setting to save the screenshot to desktop, until this is fixed !

Never heard of such a thing... if you want to abort a screen shot use the X
From Shift Command 5 > open the Option and make some change...
Take screenshots or screen recordings on Mac - Apple Support
I have the same issue as the others regardless of the option chosen. I can enlarge the screenshot from the thumbnail view, and add it to photos etc. But, there is no way to get rid of the screenshot itself without restarting the computer. Its a glitch that Apple has to fix.
Yes I have the same problem , it is so annoying, I have dozens of screen shots just hanging out in the side of my screen!!!😫
