TIFF Compression

Old messages don't answer the problem: Exporting a PDF file from Preview and choosing LZW compression does not compress the file. Is there a fix or workaround?

Sure. Use something other than Preview. Are you still running Big Sur? I just checked this in Monterey 12.1 and I see no difference. None of the TIFF compression options has any effect.

"Use something other than Preview" What app do you suggest?

There are dozens. Take your pick. For general-purpose raster image editing, I use Pixelmator Pro. If I just want to look at an image, then Preview is fine. If I want very specific control over properties of an image, I use GDAL (and/or write my own). In the past, I've used ImageMagick and GraphicsMagick. These last three are all command-line tools, however.
