Bluetooth Connectivity with Air Pod Pros

I’ve found that on my iPhone 7 the Bluetooth connectivity between the phone and the airpods becomes funky when the phone is sleeping. More specifically, when Apple Music changes from one song to the next or I try to skip a song while the phone is sleeping it struggles and there is static. If I turn the phone on and manually skip the songs by touching the phone or tapping the airpods it works fine. It’s annoying that the iPhone 7 has this issue with Apple Music and air pods.

I was able to narrow down the issue. When I turn on head tracked spacial audio, then skipping songs while the iPhone is sleeping struggles. Mono audio and fixed stereo audio doesn’t have the same issue.

It's really good to know everything works as expected with another app. Does removing and reinstalling the Music app help: Remove apps from iPhone

That's really good to know. Were you able to follow the steps from the guides we provided earlier? If not, we recommend completing those. If the behavior continues, you'll want to have your AirPods serviced: AirPods Replacement, Service, and Repair

The same issue does not occur when using Spotify so it seems to be the way that bluetooth, Apple Music, and the phone sleeping which is the issue. It’s like the phone itself gets stuck in the process of skipping the song or transitioning from one to the next. It works if I press skip with the arrows when the phone is on.

Well, I thought it fixed the issue, I’m still getting static issues when I try to skip songs while my phone is sleeping. It’s not the wifi because I use the downloaded songs.

So my suspicion is that it’s an iPhone 7 issue rather than an airpod issue.
