Charging MBP M1 Pro 16" with Thunderbolt connection and original/primary charger.

Hi,

My external monitor Asus PA27AC is connected to my MBP M1 Pro 16" via Thunderbolt cable and charging it with 45W power. As 45W is not a lot of power, is it ok to leave MagSafe charger simultaneously connected, to charge MBP with a proper power?

This connection also delivers 15watts of power to the MacBook. This is clearly not enough to charge the MacBook, so I also have the MagSafe charger connected. Is this safe to do so? Is providing the MacBook with two power sources a bad thing? Especially if it is plugged into both nearly all day (unplugged at night). Just don't want to prematurely destroy the battery. I run it purely off the battery at least once a week while out and about. Thanks for any help!

Macbook charging with USB-C not magsafe My 2021 MBP M1Max is connected to an Apple Studio Display with USB-C and a 140w Apple power supply with Magsafe cable - the MBP is prioritizing the USB-C over the Magsafe and honestly the battery never gets to 100% and the magesafe connector light is perpetually orange <grin!>. Is there a way to prioritize the MagSafe over teh USB-C without disconnecting the monitor?

Is it safe to plug both magsafe charger and an external monitor with 90W PWD? Hi, I just bought an external 4K monitor(LG 27UP850N-W) which has PWD up to 90W via usb c. will it be a problem to use both magsafe charger and plug the monitor via usb to my MBP M2 pro 14? There is no options to disable usb c charging from monitor. will the macbook prioritize magsafe charger over usb C? I also use AIDante Pro since the beginning of purchasing my macbook and has limited the charging at 70%. Thanks.

Your Mac will choose whichever has the highest power…so, no worries
