Identifying pencil

Hi!

I want to buy a pencil as a present for my sister’s new iPad. I’m not sure if she is gonna like the identification of her name on it. Can she send it back when she doesn’t like it and it is identified?

I don't think so.

The only reason for returning it may be a malfunction of the Apple Pencil.

Also, knowing the exact iPad model, you must check the compatibility in this list:--> Apple Pencil compatibility - Apple Support

Yes, there are many 3rd party engravers who can do that, and perhaps your sister could choose colors, fonts, style, etc.
