MacBook not starting up

Hello,

My MacBook Pro 2016 with Touch Bar had been stuck on a black screen showing only a lock pad.

i believe that is the firmware login screen. I didn’t forget my password but whenever I restart the Mac that screen appears and when I enter my code and press enter, it freezes. This started after in closed the Mac to go to work but didn’t turn it off.

Had this happened to anybody else? What’s the issue and how to fix it please ?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.0

"MacBook not starting up: None of them worded.: [...]I’m wondering if it requires a firmware reset if I can perform it myself and how?"

Resetting the Firmware Password:

It May. So, reset it, and perform the Following:

  1. Go Here: If your Mac doesn't Start Up all the Way - Apple Support
  2. Scroll to: Lock icon
  3. As it reads: "If your Mac is using a firmware password, the lock icon appears when you try to start up from another disk or volume, such as an external drive or macOS Recovery. Enter the firmware password to continue."

Troubleshooting Mac Power:

A. Black Mac Screen:

Go Here: If your Mac doesn't Turn On or Start Up - Apple Support

Using External Devices: Try Resetting the SMC and NVRAM, but this time, using an external keyboard. Connect an external monitor and see if you get an output.

B. Mac Power Issues:

Try a New Charger:

If it is currently charging from a charger, then use a new charger:
