What type of plug do I need to charge the Apple Watch (Ver. 7). The cord that came with mine does not fit into the USB type of plug that I use for my iPhone.

What type of plug is needed to connect to the cord that was provided in the box of the Apple Watch that I just purchased? It does not fit into the standard USB plug that I use for my iPhone, and there wasn't a special plug provided in the box with the watch. It seems strange to me that Apple would require a different interface to charge this device, but not include it in the purchase.

The cord that comes with a series 7 watch requires a USB-C connector. You can buy the plug here:

or a suitable one at Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

You should be able to use an old watch charging setup (cable & charger) with a series 7 watch. You just won't get the rapid charging feature. Since I charge mine overnight, every night - that feature is not that important to me.

FWIW, some countries penalize Apple for including a charger due to ecological concerns over chargers being disposed in landfills. Other people like you who want and need the charger think Apple is being cheap. Apple can't win.
