Do I need to install drivers to my Mac?

connected a cannon mp250 printer to my macOS Monterey and it is not printing.

iMac 21.5″ 4K, macOS 12.0

If it is AirPrint capable, you shouldn't need to install anything.

If it isn't, check with Canon for printing and scanning software.


If it is connected to your Network or directly connected, in Printers & Scanners System Prefs, Clic Add (+) button. It should appear in the list. Select it and use the AirPrint driver.

For Scanning, open Image Capture and look for it in the Devices.

The Cannon MP250 is only connected via USB and not an Airprint printer.

Cannon's support sit only lit drivers for as high as Big Sir.

Thus, it i not clear if it will work with Monterey. Cannon does not list your printer as bing compatible with Monterey
