Apple Maps directions suggestions

Can anyone explain why Apple Maps, particularly in CarPlay, assumes that users need directions to their workplace and home? These two destinations seem to me to be the two destinations least in need of directions, given that most users drive between them five times a week, 250 times a year, give or take. I would imagine most users can remember their routes between their home and workplace from one day to the next and if they launch Maps, it is because they need directions to literally anyplace but home or work. Is there a way to get rid of this annoying Maps behavior?
