Activity Move Ring closing more slowly after recent OS updates

This issue began right after iOS updates, 15.2 phone and iOS 8.3 (19S55) Apple watch. I presume it's mostly, if not completely, watchOs related.

I have had series 5 Apple Watch for about 18 months now, and the activity move ring was very consistent that whole time. I walk 10 - 12 miles most days, 4 to 5 of those miles are actual outdoor brisk walk with heartrate up around 120+ bpm. Prior to update the move ring was very consistent with daily value of about 1200 (give or take). Now, post update, doing same amount of actual activity, it has been very difficult to get value registered above 500. Why ??

Hi mahuber64,

It appears that after updating your iPhone and Apple Watch Series 5, you have noticed the Move ring closing slower than before. If you haven't already, you can see if restarting both your iPhone and Apple Watch may help:

It can seem like a simple step, but restarting can sometimes help resolve issue. Also, recalibrating and making sure you have a good fit may help after the new updates:

Let us know how those steps go or if you've already tried those steps,.

Best wishes

Restarted both watch and phone multiple times. Tried the data reset to recalibrate. Neither made any difference.

I later stumbled onto the fact that my health details for Apple Watch coincidently had been changed such that my weight setting was down by nearly 100 pounds, which will account for a much lower calorie burn, and thus a slower move ring. I will verify this in the upcoming days with the value reset to actual weight.
