Right now i mostly use it as a stationary computer. Should i keep it on power adapter while using it to reduce battery cycles or does keeping it on charger degrade the battery over time?

You can leave the computer plugged in whenever convenient to do so. Leaving it plugged in will not damage the computer or the battery. The MacOS manages the power system very well. There is no need for you to micro manage the system.
