Logic Pro X MIDI Drums stop working after circa 20 seconds of input

Hi All,

I'm using Logic 10.6.1 and I have a MacBook Pro (2020), M1 running Big Sur, 13" w/ Touch Bar & Touch ID, 16GB RAM.

I'm running into an issue with all of my drum tracks. When I use a software drums instrument (Detroit Garage, Bluebird, etc), and I try to play anything for longer than 20 seconds or so, the MIDI slowly begins to chip out, to the point where eventually I'm not getting any data at all reflected in Logic.

So to explain more thoroughly, Regardless of whether I'm using Musical Typing, an external keyboard, or an external MIDI Electric Drum Kit, and also regardless of whether or not I'm recording (a paused project, a project in playback, and a project currently recording all have the same problem), If I were to try to play the drums, it would sound perfectly fine initially, but then after about 20 seconds, I'd notice that at some points, some of the notes that I'm pressing aren't coming through, and then eventually it gets bad to the point where nothing is being heard at all. A simple fix for this problem is pressing space to start playback (or if I'm actually recording or if it's playing back already, I'd press space twice), and then it'd "reset" the bug, but as you can assume, pressing space every 20 seconds while you're trying to practice grooves isn't the most productive thing in the world.

I've looked up and down all over the internet for answers and I haven't found anything. Please help, because I can't even practice drums properly since I don't have an acoustic drum kit and all I have is my electric kit. Any other questions I'm willing to answer.
