If I buy a new iPhone in Italy, will I be able to use it in the USA when I return? I have a Vodaphone SIM card for here and a Verizon SIM card for the USA

Yes, IF you buy an unlocked phone directly from Apple.

However, the warranty will only be valid in Italy (or any other EU country).
