i changed my apple ID but my iphone and apple watch are still showing old ID and won't accept my password

I had to change my apple ID due to my work email now longer being acceptable to use as my ID. I updated my apple ID to a new email address using my computer however my IPhone and apple watch are still showing my old email address as my ID and now won't accept my password (i get an error message saying unknown error occurred" How do I get my phone and watch to update to new ID?

iPhone 11, iOS 15

Please click on this link and read "What to do after [or before] you change your Apple ID [email address] or password" ➔ https://support.apple.com/HT204071 - "After you change your Apple ID email address or password, you might need to update your sign-in information with any Apple services you're using." - Or if you're seeing persistent disabled messages or repeated requests for the password to your previous Apple ID. You may also wish to turn off "Find My" before changing information and turn it on again afterward.

Same issue, I reset my Apple id and its still showing to old and then I to turn off the find my function, can't remember my old password and when it gets to the reset function, I can't because it doesn't recognize the old id?
