I put my pass-code in the phone will either shut down or have the buffer wheel appear. What is the problem?

My Iphone 12 has been randomly shutting down and I assume it's trying to restart itself but everytime I put my passcode in the phone will either shut down or have the buffer wheel appear. What is the problem?
