Permissions for 'Users' folder

I'm trying, and failing to change permissions, on the 'Users' folder in order to enable a cloud service (pCloud) to sync a particular folder in my home area. The Sharing & Permissions info says "You can only read"; system has "Read & Write" permissions, but admin is "Read only" and I am unable to change this.

Any ideas?

I am an administrator on the computer (a 2015 MacBook Air), and I'm running MacOS Monterey v12.1.

Thanks both. It's not the Users folder per se that I'm trying to sync, but rather a sub-(sub-sub-sub-etc) folder. However the error message specifies that it's the permissions on the Users folder itself that is the problem. See screenshot...

I have asked pCloud's customer support if they can suggest anything, as I'm surely not the first person to experience this problem.

Changing permissions will not help.

Apps must specifically ask permission to use your data (that wasn't created by that app). The app has to be compiled with those requests--you cannot add them.

You can try adding pCloud to the Full Disk Access section of Security & Privacy System Preferences, Privacy tab.

Users is a root folder which is part of the operating system. I don't think that there is any way to change its permissions (when the running OS includes this folder). Why not try synching with the sub-folder (or folders) of interest? You likely need to grant Read Only access (for everyone) to every folder in the path.
