DVD movie won't fill screen in full screen mode of DVD Player app (through USB Superdrive)?

I put in the DVD in the USB Superdrive.

The app opens. Everything looks fine. Then I go to full screen mode. And the movie is not in full screen.

There is clearly space to fill in by zooming in.

This is not a matter of aspect ratio. See the image included. The cursor is clearly in the black bars.

The options in the top left (File, Edit, Window etc. have no solutions).

The menu button brings you back to the DVD's menu; no solution.

Unfortunately VLC player has too many visual obstructions.

How do I zoom in?

Thanks AppleJen77, I am having an absolute blast today. I’ve just gone through the process and the results remain the same: in full screen mode, the DVD does not fill the screen although it’s obviously possible.

I do have two points of information to add:

1) In the DVD Player app, there is a column of “Window”, with the option to click “Zoom”. This is possible, but does not appear to do anything. See image #1.

2) Before you get to the DVD’s menu, the disc plays the familiar intellectual property warnings. They have a different aspect ratio, I think it’s called 16:9. This fills the screen from top to bottom, but not the sides. So it is possible for the DVD Player app to fill the top and bottom parts of the screen. See image #2.

Thanks for helping me out. Hope you have a super day too!
