External display

My external display comes on but displays "No Signal" from my iMac, OS Catalina 10.15.7. I was using a Thunderbolt 2 to DVI adaptor for the last two years with no problem. I thought maybe it broke so I got a Thunderbolt 2 direct to VGA cable and that did not help. I'm connecting to an older ACER monitor. This seemed to start happening after the last couple of OS updates. Appreciate any help. Thanks

no signal with external monitor I have a macbook pro that runs catalina 10.15.6 (19G2021). I use a thunderbolt adapter to connect my external monitor to the mac. The problem I have is that it will intermittently work. Sometimes I connect the HDMI cable to the mac and the external monitor connects. More commonly however, there is a 'no signal' message on the monitor or both screens (mac and external monitor) go black. It is very frustrating as I would like to use the external monitor. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks

Mac Mini M2 Display Port 1.2 to Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) I was trying to connect my monitor, a Philips 278E8QJAB via Display Port 1.2 to the Thunderbolt 4 using a USB - C cable (https://alogic.co/usb-c-male-to-displayport-male-cable-ultra-series-4k-60hz-space-grey.html) It is not sending video signal to the monitor. When I connect the monitor via HDMI to the Mac Mini along with the USB-C cable to the same monitor I can see the led indicator on the USB - C turned green and there is video signal even I pulled off the HDMI cable. Not sure what went wrong.

No External Display signal with Mini-Display-> HDMI cable on Mojave 10.14.6? I have a late 2012 imac running 10.14.6, with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 GB graphics card. I use a Belkin Mini-Display -> HDMI cable to connect to an external monitor. It has worked great for years. But something seems to have happened over the past month. It doesn't connect or send a signal, despite showing up in the About this Mac, Displays port. I know it's not the monitor, as it works with a different computer (although using a HDMI-HDMI cable). I've booted from Recovery Mode and run first aid. I've also logged in under a Guest profile. Is it possible one of these recent security updates broke things? While it could be the cable itself, I have to think a software conflict maybe the issue.

Also, I have a 2013 27" iMac.
