Maps on MacBook Pro very slow

Since upgrading to Monterey, Apple Maps has been painfully slow, to the point of being useless. Any kind of panning or zooming takes forever to refresh.

Maps worked great prior to the OS update. I've since updated to 12.1 and it's the same. My internet connection is fast. No other apps have any issues - just Maps. I've made no other changes to the system in the interim.

I'm running a MBP 13-inch 2020 with an Intel processor. 16 GB RAM.

My wife, sitting in the same room, is running a MBP 2020 with an M1 chip and 8 GB of RAM. Hers runs Maps lickety split. She's still on Big Sur 11.6

Is this an Intel vs M1 chip issue in Monterey?

This is an Intel v. Apple Silicon issue. I have a MacBook Pro 2019 (Intel) when Maps went super slow after upgrading to Monterey. I also have a Mac Mini with the M1 chip. Instant rendering on the Mini, super slow on the MacBook Pro. I have reset the NVRAM, done a voodoo dance at midnight, and several other things.

It's simple - it's a REAL issue, and needs to be addressed by Apple - PLEASE!
