Ever since I updated my iPhone 13 to iOS 15.1.1, Apple CarPlay intermittently doesn’t run on my Sony XAVAX1000 Receiver when I connect the USB cable. I either have to reconnect the cable once or several times or restart the engine on the car and then connect the cable again for Apple CarPlay to run. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix for this from Sony or Apple?

Half of the time, I need to unplug the phone and plug it back in multiple times until it connects.
It doesn’t matter which end I unplug it from (the USB end or lightning end) so it doesn’t seem to be the mechanical connection. I’ve tried an official Apple lighting cable and multiple MFI cables.
Doesn’t seem to be the phone either, because the same thing happens with my sister’s 13 Pro Max. Doesn’t happen with my old XS Max or my parents 12 Pro Max’s. Also, both 13 Pro Max’s works fine with a wireless BMW, a wired Volkswagen, and a wired Honda.
The head unit is running the latest firmware (1.04) and I tried factory resetting it. I’m going to try to report it to Sony.
I am having this exact same issue. I've restored the factory settings on the head unit (XAV-AX1000) but still no connection.
