I have an iPhone 12, I have connected my iPhone to my windows computer using lightening cable to USB so that I can import direct from my phone. If the photo was captured using a filter it saves the photo without a filter and then a copy but the filtered image has a greyed out section always at the bottom. Why is this and how can I prevent it.

Some filters are Apple proprietary.
If you import into Photos for Windows it should cope. If you import into Windows folders direct it may not.
You could also change Settings, Camera formats to Most Compatible (ie jpg)

I have attempted both ways but neither worked unfortunately.
