Charging Apple Watch series 7
We have my daughter an Apple Watch series 7 for Christmas. It came with a charging cord but not a block to plug into. The end is not a USB connector so what do we use to charge the phone?

You can use any USB-C port on a personal computer. You can use any USB-C charger from a recent iPhone, iPad, or MacBook Pro.
If you have an old Apple Watch, you can use its charging puck charger.
You can purchase any vendor's USB-C charging brick. If it is 20watts are higher, it will Fast Charge the Apple Watch Series 7.

For now if you can get hold of an old watch charging cord, you can use that and your phone's charging brick.
You won't get fast charging though.
Also if you have a Mac you can plug it in to a USB-C port on that.
Apple is under a lot of pressure to reduce the e-waste it generates. In some countries it is fined if it includes the charger.
Apple has not been including chargers for Apple Watches, iPhones, etc… for awhile now.
Then they shouldn’t change the connection. They did this when they went from the plug to the lightning cable and now usb-c. So I have to go and buy a new plug because all of mine only take the lightning connection. So we now have extra waste and I can’t use the product until I spend more money.
I shouldn't have to purchase a $19.99 box on an $800 watch. I also shouldn't have to use my own charger from my watch every night to charge my sons watches. This is unacceptable and **** poor on Apple's part. If they are going to reduce waist then they certainly should not have changed the boxes from USB (which is everywhere) to USBC. It's a money grab once again!
Apple is under pressure to reduce the e-waste it generates. The same pressure is being applied to other vendors as well, so Apple is not alone is not including charging bricks. Also the EU is pushing for USB-C as a standard.
You do not need to buy the charger from Apple. There are many 3rd party chargers that will work with your USB-C cable. And any user with a MacBook Pro from 2016 or more recent has USB-C ports that can be used.
Have read all the posts and these were before the disastrous 8.3 software update Dec 13th. This update has prevented any older series Usb A chargers working.
if you have not got a usb c you cannot charge the Watch at all.
if they were going to do this they should have kept the usb A lead in the box we got
>Makes me want to send it back!
Here is the Apple return policy
Same, I can't believe apple isn't providing a box to charge. I own many apple products and the usb c box I do not own!
Can’t believe it. Totally different cable to charge the watch than any other Apple product I have. So Christmas Day how do you use it????? Bad form Apple!!!
II agree this was a terrible design!
Agree that apple should furnish a box to charge the watch since my other. Apple products use a different size. Makes me want to send it back!
My iPhone 11 doesn't even have the same plug. My boys have an iPhone 7, not the same plug. How are they allowed to sell a product with no way in charging it?
Sorry I meant after and after the update.
aplogies
