I purchased the new MacBook pro 14" was disappointed when I found that the power saver settings are not available anymore. So in order to prevent Macbook from sleeping all the time when running on battery, I am wondering if I could keep it plugged in the charger for long times, does that hurt the battery or shorten its life?

Yes, you can leave the MacBook Pro's power adapter plugged in for long periods of time without it causing any issues with the battery or the notebook itself. Actually, you could leave it permanently plugged-in without any issues.

Yes, you can leave your 14in MacBook Pro connected all day and night if that is what you want. The MacBook Pro and the macOS will handle the power flow to the battery and the system automatically. My M1 MacBook Pro is mostly connected to power and I have been using MacBooks in this way for years without issue. The battery is a consumable product. It will suffer from degrading battery health, as time elapses, no matter what you do. Leaving it plugged in all the time does not affect the degrading process.
