Apple Watch 7 and Third-Party Chargers.

As of 5/15 I too have this issue. I have 2 of the Pexxus 3-in-1 chargers with Magsafe for iPhone. Phone and AirPods Pro work just fine. My AW 4 also worked just fine. Bought AW7 with GPS+Cellular and charges for about 30 seconds and then goes to normal watch face.

I've read where the new Apple Watch 7 may not work with 3rd party chargers. Some have seen a problem with the Apple charger. It is not known what is going to happen with that, just watch the Apple website or other news for anything being released by Apple.

I contacted Apple about this and they blamed it on the charger (which I bought from them) and told me to contact Mophie. Mophie said it was Apples last update that caused it. So I’m skeptical that Apple will fix it.

Unfortunately I have a similar issue with my series 7 watch, which prior to updates was working fine with my 3-1 nightstand charger. Now it just recycles through several displays and eats the entire battery in a matter of hours, my iPhone 13 still chargers as does the AirPods. The watch simply doesn’t charge. VERY FRUSTRATING!! I really would appreciate Apple getting their act together and resolving this issue.

phew!! And i thought i had a bad aw7… just switched literally a day ago… im now in a hotel room with a dead watch. I had the aw5, it charges with all my third party charger. Yesterday got aw7, finished the setup, plenty of juice, tested the aw7 on one of the old charger, flashing charge logo lit up… ok off i went with that puck…. Now i will be a week without a watch. I dont want to spend money on another charger. This sucks!!!!!

Apple is already aware and is working on a fix. Watch for a release.

What 3rd party charger are you using? I'm have 2 of the pexxus 3 in 1 magnetic charger. iPhone 13 and airpods charge just fine. Watch no luck still on 8.6

Magsafe??? I was talking about the 3rd party charging puck that works well on aw5 but wont work on aw7…. I have latest sw on watch, phone. Btw, my puck is usb c based also.

I haven't heard anything. My hope is to just get enough posts/comments related to this issue so that Apple knows to address it in their next Apple Watch software update. I doubt this was deliberate since they're still selling third party chargers on the website. I enjoy the 3-in-1 charger stands because the get rid of the clutter on the nightstand with needing multiple chargers. Hopefully Apple can send a software update soon.

as of 4-20-22 problem still exists... wish sometimes I never got this apple stuff.. this is 2nd issue... never had issues with android... BUT I cant stand samsung so...... here I sit and wait...for Apple to fix their screw up... like everyone else :( :(.........

Yes hope so to. It has been going on too long. Today is exactly a month since this happened.
