How do I retrospectively change pool length on my Apple Watch? Also, how do I set a default pool length of 50 rather than 25M?

I got an Apple Watch for Christmas and am surprised that it doesn't 1. Detect pool length, 2. Allow me to change pool length after a swim and 3. allow me to set a default pool length of 50 m instead of manually setting it EVERY TIME. I mainly chose the Apple Watch because I thought it would be an intelligent and useful tool for swimming and this appears not to be the case.

If anyone can help me with these things, please let me know.

Retrospective distance setting would be great to add to future upgrades. People who wear glasses can't always see to fiddle around with a watch when starting a swim.
