Hotspot/Ps4

Im using my hotspot for gaming on my ps4. Sometimes the icon that tells me the hotspot is connected to something starts blinking and my game lags like crazy. The first time ever was a couple months ago while at someone else's house and i thought they were trying to leach my hotspot, but recently it's been happening at home as well. I only use it for my ps4. I've seen questions on here describing similar problems but the answers are always the same basic level reset this and that. It doesn't help and I'm starting to think it's a hacking issue whether on my phone or the game, but I cant find a solution other than turning it off and back on which gets me booted mid game. Does anyone have a real solution?

ps...please don't reply if you're just gonna tell me to reset my settings. I've done that. I've changed my passwords. It doesn't help.
