NAS drive keeps dropping connection

I have a NAS drive linked by Ethernet cable to the router, which I intended to use to play my music collection, however the connection drops out periodically for no apparent reason. Is there any way to set this up to ensure a permanent connection? (The iMac is also linked by ethernet cable to the router through the power supply)

I just spotted that in your opening statement you say that your Mac's LAN network is connected to the router over a power-line adaptor?

We have found IP over power line adaptors to be rather unreliable and do not use them at work at all.

I have tried a couple at home over the years to feed IP out to my garden workshop and garage but gave up, just could not achieve a stable connection or a good speed and eventually I ran in permanent CAT6 cabling.

FYI

I suspect this might be an issue with OS 12.x Monterey.

We have been experiencing the same problem with all our office iMacs and my own iMac Pro at home since updating from Big Sur to Monterey last month.

At random times we see the warning pop-up on screen advising that the network (NAS) drive has been disconnected but our IT people say that there is nothing wrong with our office network and the chances that both our office machines and my own machine at home have both started failing in the same way is very slim.

FWIW our Energy Saver options in Mac preferences on our office machines and my own iMac Pro are unchanged from before the problem appeared and we running with Big Sur.

As requested here is a snapshot of my home iMac Pro, the Energy Settings are the same as our office standard iMac's.

At home, the CAT6 network cable length to my router is 2Mtr, the CAT 6 cable to the NAS enclosure is 10Mtr, all devices are powered from the same ring circuit.

At the office, it's impossible to give you the cable lengths since this is in a University faculty, dept of Physics, and I have no idea which building our router is located in nor where the NAS is situated, I would have request that information from our IT dept when we return to work after the end or term break in January.

All I can see on the office machine(s) is that the CAT6 cable from the iMac(s) to the network ports on the desks is less than 1Mtr long.
