Problem of the black screen iPad Pro 12.9"

Hi everyone,

I have the iPad Pro 12.9" of 2021, today I was working on my desk with the pencil when suddenly the screen goes black, at first I thought the iPad was discharged so I put him on charge and I could hear the sound of charging. But nothing happened.

I want to precise that I never dropped it

I tried to force restart many time (volume up & volume down then hold lock button for 20 seconds), it looks like my iPad restart but I can't see the Apple logo coming.

It's really weird because I can hear the sound of the keyboard when I tap the screen, but nothing..

Thanks for your answers

Thank you brbo,

I think I haven't any other way to solve it, may I ask, do you think it's an issue with the new OS 15.2 ? Because I saw two other person on this forum who got the same problem with their 12.9"

Connect your iPad to its Power Adapter and allow the iPad to charge, undisturbed, for at least an hour. While still connected to external power, try a forced-restart:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Note:  If iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t turn on or is frozen. Or if your iPad isn’t working correctly after you restart it, see the iPad Support website.

You're welcome!

Thank you for your reply, baki274,

Haven't heard about this being an issue ... but is always possible.

You can always send feedback to Apple, if you wish.

If Apple get enough feedback on an issue, they may address the cause in the next update.
