Hello. How do I use it to buy music using my apple account balance?
It'll happen automatically when you buy the songs, unless you're gifting them.

The problem I was experiencing was that although I had redeemed the gift card I couldn't make a purchase. It turns out I had to add a credit card to my ID for it to work.
