Reset the AirPods holding the back button until flash in amber keep holding haz the light will turn in white , pair your AirPods again and make that they are running the latest firmware
The issue is that each AirPods is operating on a different software version. AppleCare recommended doing a total software update (30 mins in duration) without opening the case. It didn't work so they have to go back to be repaired or replaced. Very disappointed Granddaughter and equally disappointed Grandad who's 'volunteered' to lend her his until the new or repaired arrive.
