Mouse cursor doesn't disappear in fullscreen video

I bought the 13" Macbook Pro earlier this year and it's running Monterey OS and my mouse remains visible while watching fullscreen videos. I've tried different browsers, different streaming sites, and different video players. No matter I do or try, the mouse cursor never disappears.

I tried using a utility called cursorceror but it never worked consistently and now gives me an error whenever I launch it.

I've been a lifetime Windows user so maybe I'm missing something simple so if anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it.

Hey there, bdizzleyadig.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for posting about the mouse cursor on your Mac continuing to show up while using apps in full screen mode. We'd be glad to see how we can help.

You've done some good troubleshooting thus far by trying multiple sites and apps. While in full screen mode, have you moved the cursor all the way over to one side? If not, give that a try. You may also try pausing and then unpausing the video to see if the cursor disappears at that point. While we can't speak for the viability or reliability of the app you mentioned, check out If an app freezes or quits unexpectedly on Mac for ways to correct that.

Take care.
