Finder alternative with bigger space for tags and comments

I am embarking on a video organisation project where I am going to be tagging and entering a lot of text into the comments metadata of my video files.

The info pane only makes two lines for tags and three lines for comments visible.

I would like another app that will make these text entry boxes bigger.

Does such a thing exist?

Tags - Clean up in Aisle 4 Despite my mother's attempts, I am not a perfect being. As a matter of fact I've rebelled. Now I must suffer the consequences. In a (misguided?) effort to find files, I have tagged hundreds and created dozens of named tags. I need to sort through everything, rename tags, move files between tags, etc. (I have close to 300 tags.) Is Tags the right approach? (I want to say "Are Tags.") Should I give up and use a different technique or just accept the fact that my life is a never-ending game of "Where's Waldo?" Can I have them show up in the Finder Sidebar alphabetically? I have to scroll through many screens checking for the name in each screen. Can I rename tags? Can I delete tags? Can I combine tags? How can I "move" files from one tag to another? Can I "move" more than one at a time? (I know it is not a move, but it is easier to express that way.). Is there a better way of looking at files organized by tags? Column View? Other approaches or ideas will be appreciated. I hope I haven't been tagged out. Thanks.

How do I make Finder show me all the tags for a file in column view while I'm entering them? I'm on a 2020 M1 Mac mini 8GB running Monterrey 12.1 (21C52). I like to tag photos and pictures on the fly via Finder, but it becomes difficult when the tags space at the bottom of the column view partially disappears and the scroll bar won't go any further down to see them all. I've had this problem for literally years, but tonight I started to get a little testy. I want to add a wide range of tags to the scanned image, but it is difficult to do when I can't see if I'm spelling important tags in French correctly. Please note the screenshot. Is there a preference or trick to force Finder to let me see everything including the tags from within the Finder window itself? I like going right into the Finder window as it is faster than using extra keystrokes to get info or open in Preview.

Once the content entered into that Finder Get Info comment field exceeds its vertical viewport size, that content automatically becomes scrollable. That does not solve the lack of user enlargement for that Comment viewport, nor do I know of any Finder replacement products that offer a bigger comment window.

You may need to use AppleScript to get/set the comment content via the clipboard and an external text editor to enter/modify that content.

You could use the Preview pane in the Finder window.

From the Menu bar: View > Show Preview [Shift - Command - P]

Open the preference pane from the drop down menu: View > Show Preview Options.

There is no option for Spotlight Comments.

But the list is quite extensive for Movie files & metadata:
