Share ETA with CarPlay does nothing

I have 2 separate friends that don’t get notified or anything when I try to share eta through Apple Maps app

location sharing I noticed when a friend and I share location that whenever I stop sharing I always get a message at the same time that they stopped. I usually share for the day. Are they sharing until I stop sharing I am wondering? Is that possible to share with someone until they stop?

What is “when sharing” In location settings it gives the option to select “when sharing.” What does that mean

Be certain that you are selecting the correct contact. I tested it with my folks and when they sent the share ETA, they were using my email address, not Maps.
