1080i Interlaced output - Monterey

I work in the live events and webcasting field and for a lot of professional video switchers we use on shows they require computers that have 1080i as outputs, we can use 1080p for some events but can get longer cable runs in 1080i, as well as to match whatever the show requires we can't dictate the resolution we want to output. On our mac mini computers for example that we use for many show applications, they are capable of outputting 1080i but when Monterey is installed they cannot output that resolution any longer. I'm sure some programmer thought it was a brilliant idea, but really had no experience or understanding of how we use your computers in live event environments across North America, and thought well 1080i is just old and dumb. I had to downgrade those computers to older operating systems as well as flag this as an issue the the stagers across the country that use Macs, and there are a lot of systems out there. Are there any thoughts on bringing this output type back, or is it abandoned and we will hold onto your older operating system for live events for the foreseeable future. Currently that industry is holding onto a lot of older computers and operating systems because Apple isn't listening to us as professional users. The MacBook Pro 2015 is STILL on almost every show site you step onto, as it is still one of the most versatile road warriors. We do like the new 16 inch M1, BUT this resolution issue is a thorn in our side.
