Clear Clipboard Contents

I may be wrong but I thought that the contents of the clipboard on my iMac should be cleared off each time I restart the computer. However, since buying Textsniper which grabs text from documents that do not make copy and paste possible, it appears that my clipboard just adds each new chunk of text to the end of the last lot and it is building up.

Does anyone know a simple way of clearing out the clipboard ? Thanks.

Using Terminal to Completely Clear the Clipboard

  1. Click any empty space on the desktop to access Finder. ...
  2. Launch Terminal, which is located in the "Utilities" folder inside the "Applications" folder.
  3. Type or paste "pbcopy < /dev/null" in the Terminal window and press "Enter." This clears the clipboard.

Just tried it and works in the Native Apple Clipboard of Finder
