M1 MacBook Pro audio glitch I cannot locate a relevant thread here, but there are reports all over the internet, including several audio forums and Apple dev. forums regarding audio glitches on M1 hardware. The audio crackling or popping can occur in any application and is frequently (perhaps always?) accompanied by a console message like the following: 3587 HALS_OverloadMessage.cpp:222 HALS_OverloadMessage: Overload due to HAL client proc exceeding io cycle budget The audio defect, and console message occur *almost every time* I use an application with audio. Final Cut Pro x app hangs on Validating audio units Can’t fire up FCPX. It starts then hangs on Validating Audio units. Stuck here. I reboot and try again, same thing. I even deleted the app and installed fresh copy. Still no go. Was working fine till I updated. Thanks for any help. Using Mac mini M1

Can no longer control Sonos from my MacBook Pro The Sonos app on my MacBook Pro (Ventura 13.0.1) no longer works properly to control my in house Sonos speaker system. After years of controlling from my Macs, I now can't operate the system. The bad performing Sonos app says a software update is needed, but when I attempt that I get many repeats of Error - Try Again Later. After many attempts I went to the tried and true procedure of uninstalling the app, with the intent of re-installing it. Surprise! The App Store no longer carries the Sonos app for Macs. So, I can't re-install the app I just dumped. What's up? Has Apple gotten out ahead of Sonos with its latest macOS update? And so also removed the app from the App Store because it won't work? Or is there some other fix for this that I haven't found yet? (I can easily control my Sonos system as before with all of my iOS devices)

We see that you may have already visited If the internal speakers on your Mac aren't working; did you already follow those steps?

If this only occurs with Safari, make sure your Mac is up-to-date:
