How to remove admin user from macbook air before selling

I have re-installed of the OS Monterey in order to remove my admin user name. After it is done, then I had to log in by using my name and password again. Looks like I am going around the circle, because I still saw the same problem. My admin user name is still there and I cannot remove it.

As for recovery option, which one am I supposed to choose? In my case I chose 2. and did not work. 1. Restore from time machine, 2. Reinstall macOS monterey, 3. Safari, 4. Disk Utility.

Thank you BobTheFisherman for your reply. I followed the instruction from the link, and at No. 8. Erase your Mac and reinstall macOS, I was led to https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208496 to erase the user information. No. 5, 6 instruct me to erase Macintosh HD, which I did. Now when I tried to reinstall macOS, I could not do it. Now all I see is blackish screen with question mark blinking with "support.apple.com/mac/startup"

What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?
