Apple TV app

my Apple TV app will open but when so go to click “sign in” or start “free trial” the screen just goes to the load screen with the swirl. It is a brand new Sony Bravia TV with Apple TV app automatically installed on it. I have tried uninstalling the app, updating the app and resetting the app. Please advice what to do.
