iPad Pro M1 apple care + secondary

I was on the phone with an apple representative and was told that AppleCare+ can only be added to one secondary device (Magic Keyboard or Apple Pencil) but not both. Is this correct, i was under the impression that both Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil can be added under the iPads apple care plan. But I was informed only one secondary item could be selected.
