Apple ceased developing QuickTime for Windows about 2016. See: About QuickTime 7 compatibility where they note: Microsoft Windows versions introduced in 2009 and later support key media formats, such as H.264 and AAC, that QuickTime 7 for Windows enabled.
QuickTime for Windows 7.7.9 was the last version and supported Windows 7 and Vista.
QuickTime Player has not been supported in Windows for a while so use some other app instead.
